Traditions and festivals in Mojacar

Many festivals are celebrated throughout the year in Spain.

Mojácar is celebrating for example, Los Reyes (the Kings) in January, where families taste the traditional cake of kings,

The Semana Santa (Holy Week) in April, is very famous and very important in Andalusia where processions line the streets villages followed by enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds.

La Tuna is present in Mojacar late April, it's music groups organized by Universities and from all provinces of Spain organize shows in the village for a whole weekend, they are dressed with the famous costumes with badges of the countries visited and banners with soft words that women have left them as they pass. The whole village is singing and dancing and celebration took place all the weekend! Not to be missed!

Like the festival of Moros y Cristianos (Moors and Christians) is a tribute to the recovery and strong historical past of the region, Mojácar is waiting every year this festival in June. Everybody dress the traditional costume according to his kabila: costume of Moorish or Christian to parade through the streets of the historic center of Mojácar.
